Spicy red and black fruits, cedar pencil, and leafy herb notes all emerge from the 2021 Château Chasse-Spleen, another charming, mid-weight, yet elegant 2021 that has soft, nicely integrated tannins and a good finish. Drink bottles over the coming decade or so.
The 2021 Chasse-Spleen has a light and rather airy bouquet that needs more fruit concentration, revealing fleeting notes of cedar and tobacco, but they never stick in the memory. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced with a fine bead of acidity. There is freshness here, but there's little weight and grip, so it comes across as an "outline" of a Chasse-Spleen.
The 2021 Chasse-Spleen is a soft, easygoing Moulis that will drink well on release. Plush, sensual and enveloping, the 2021 is all charm. Succulent red cherry, spice, tobacco, blood orange and leather fill out this layers. This plump, juicy 2021 is all pleasure.

If there’s one Moulis estate you know, it is likely Chasse-Spleen, today owned by the Foubet family. Vines have been planted here since the 16th century, and today it has an impressive 100 hectares to its name.
