The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru is slightly more reserved on the nose, though it is delineated and focused and the oak is neatly integrated. Displaying perhaps slightly less fruit concentration vis-à-vis Château de Marsannay's Echézeaux, the palate is medium-bodied with pliant and fine tannins. There is a mixture of red and black fruit, sea salt, black pepper and sage, followed by satisfying "peacock's tail" on the finish. All the while, it maintains sufficient structure that should safeguard longevity. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
