Tasting notes
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles reveals aromas of wild blueberries and blackberries mingled with dark chocolate, sweet spices and violets. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a taut, incisive profile that reflects its hillside origins, this concentrated, vibrant red Burgundy will richly reward patience.

On and over the border with Brochon, so denied premier cru status (!). Rocky, limestone soils. 1 ha in total. Old vines (70 years). Cask sample. Medium cherry hue; jousting acidity, and sweet fruit. Red- and black-berried fruit, and a leafy freshness. Long – almost stretched. (MH)
