Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

Audoin's brilliant 2020 Marsannay Clos du Roy opens in the glass with aromas of blackberries, wild plums, musky spices and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and layered palate that's vibrant and concentrated, structured around powdery tannins, concluding with a long, mineral finish.

Cask sample. Solid and with a bit more tannin than the Longeroies but still with good pace and freshness. Damson fruit. GV (JR)

Score 85-87/100 · Drink 2023-2027, Neal Martin, Dec 2021

The 2020 Marsannay Clos du Roy has a little more depth and definition on the nose compared to the Les Longeroies, dark berry fruit mixed with sous-bois and a touch of truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with coarse tannins, slightly hard on the entry, some stem addition possible here, but it slightly obscures the freshness and precision on the finish.
