2020 Meursault

I always open a bottle of the latest release from Germain "off the back of the truck," and the 2020 Meursault Village is showing very well indeed, offering up aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, hazelnuts, warm bread and citrus oil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive palate that's satiny and seamless, exhibiting excellent balance and a more effortless, sensual style than the more powerful 2019 that I had the occasion to drink several days earlier. Readers should aspire to exercise more patience than I did, but nor is trying a bottle young a crime.
