Tasting notes
The 2019 Carménère Purple Angel is also 8% Petit Verdot from Colchagua, and was 80% aged in new barrels for 18 months. Intense purple in color. The nose offers notes of ash, pyrazine, ripe plum, cedar and other aromas from the aging process. Creamy and intense with refined tannins and a broad, hefty flow; the moderate freshness adds a touch of juice. A long-lasting wine with a clear profile.

92% Carmenère, 8% Petit Verdot. RS 2.9 g/l. A green-tobacco nose with rich cassis and a dense vibrant purple colour. Pepper, cedar, dense blackberry syrup, this will overpower any other wine on the table. It rolls on but I miss the more nuanced nose of that Alpha M. This is much more in your face. A bit tiring to drink. Stomping power. My teeth are purple! Still, it's well done… honestly this whole portfolio is huge but well made, I may just be waning from alcohol absorption! (SCJ)
