Tasting notes
The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with dark berry fruit, a touch of spice and black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, dark berry fruit with a pleasant saline touch on the finish. Very fine, but it deserves two or three years in bottle.

A worthy follow-up to the attractive 2019, Drouhin's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur delivers aromas of dark berry fruit, cassis, warm spices, rose petals and burning embers. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, with powdery tannins and a long, saline finish, it will merit some bottle age.
