The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Village has quite an intense and voluminous bouquet, quite Chassagne-like in style. The palate is taut and fresh with Clementine and apricot notes, modest weight with a lilting finish. Fine.

Lovely vibrant and refreshing colour with a green gleam. The bouquet is unusually extrovert for this stage here. Fresher and longer but less rich than 2019, still very youthful, almost yeasty. Good tension, very appealing all round, with classical Jacques Carillon structure. More class than 2018 too, I think. Ripe citrus notes to finish. Tasted: October 2021
