Tasting notes
Aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, spices, orange zest and violet preface Lamy's 2020 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard Rouge, a medium to full-bodied, taut but fleshy red that's concentrated, pure and vibrant, concluding with a chalky finish.

The 2020 Saint-Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard 1er Cru has a straight down the line limestone-scented bouquet with a touch of shucked oyster shells. The palate is very harmonious, taut and fresh, with crisp acidity and impressive tension. A surfeit of energy on the finish, this is a seriously fine Saint-Aubin.

The 2020 Saint Aubin Derrière Chez Edouard ler Cru (Rouge) comes from vines planted in 1959. The nose is clean and pure, mulberry and bilberry, not complex but focused. The palate is a bit chewy on the entry, a bit of sinew towards the backend at the expense of refinement. Square jawed.
