Tasting notes
An absolute stand-out in Tortochot’s line-up in 2020, there’s huge depth to the palate of their Mazis-Chambertin. The freshness, combined with its concentration, takes your breath away. This is noticeably darker-toned than is typical of Tortochot, more on the black cherry and blackberry than red fruit spectrum. There is a lovely mineral, fresh earthiness to the fruit and a touch of bitterness too, which adds a complementary, savoury complexity to the pure, perfectly ripened fruit. This is incredibly rich for Tortochot and very impressive.
About the producer

Situated in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Tortochot may not carry the cachet of the very top domaines in the village, but it does offer some of the best value, producing wines with great terroir transparency in their top Premiers and Grands Crus, and fabulous village wines.
