Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Neal Martin, Dec 2021

The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Village was quite closed on the nose despite coaxing, then there is a touch of menthol that springs out of nowhere. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, plenty of red fruit, touches of raspberry, wild strawberry and black pepper on the finish. It just needs a little more flesh overall, a touch more joie-de-vivre maybe.

Cask sample. Medium-deep ruby; richer and more stern than the village Chambolle; silky texture and blue-black fruits. (MH)
