The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes 50% from En Charlemagne and 50% from Leongette and had been bottled the week before my visit in May 2022. Lemon thyme and white peaches on the nose; just a touch of yellow plum emerges with time. Finely focused. The palate is well balanced with a touch of lemongrass on the entry, fine depth, nice strictness considering the vintage with a long tail on the finish. Excellent.

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru opens in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, fresh bread, pear and beeswax. Full-bodied, taut and chalky, it's incisive and tightly wound, with lovely depth at the core and a long, tangy finish.
