Tasting notes
This was the third and final wine in our flight of Van Canneyts Vosne Premiers Crus, each one seemingly better than the last. Only bottled in magnum, this will be an extraordinary wine. Now it offers spice notes, with deliciously sweet, rich fruit. Its complex with layers of freshness and this immense weight of fruit, with waves of texture that seamlessly bind the wine together. Remarkable.

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts is the most powerful, as well as the least evolved, of the domaine's premiers crus. Unwinding in the glass with scents of dark berries, cherries, exotic spices, licorice, loamy soil and ripe plums, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with a seamless, multidimensional profile and a long, expansive finish. This will require and reward patience.
The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Malconsorts 1er Cru has a pixelated bouquet that unfolds beautifully in the glass, a femme fatale of pure red and blue fruit with a hint of violet. The palate is very taut on the entry, perfectly judged acidity, silky smooth with impressive volume allied with finesse on the finish. Entrancing.
