Exhibiting aromas of citrus oil, peach, praline, freshly baked bread and white flowers, the 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is medium to full-bodied, layered and muscular, with terrific concentration, lively acids and chalky structuring extract. This, too, is a real success this year.

The 2020 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has the finest aromatics of Bouchard Père’s Meursault with delineated, very focused citrus fruit, walnut and light white flower scents. The palate is very well balanced with a fine acidic spice, a clever touch of reduction with very good persistence on the finish. Bon vin.
Served last among the Meursaults, as Fr�d�ric Weber likes to use a little more new oak for his Charmes (one new barrel in two) and it shows a little. In fact the oak rather dries out the wine on the palate for the moment but there is all the necessary fruit so this should come back together. Slightly more tropical notes here. At the moment not quite together but time is on its side.�

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most established wine producers. Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, it is the largest vineyard owner in the Côte d’Or with 130 hectares of vines.
