Tasting notes
The 2020 Clos Vougeot Les Petits Maupertui Grand Cru has quite a rich and opulent bouquet that just about manages to retain delineation, scents of black plum and cassis. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, good depth, quite muscular though the finish is just missing the precision of other vintages. This will need long-term cellaring, but maybe some of Leroux's other cuvées will be more rewarding, ike the Corton of Griotte-Chambertin.

Picked early and will be bottled relatively late. Fine rich vibrant colour. While this initially shows the sturdy side of Clos Vougeot actually it is more the fruit rather than structure which is to the fore. Benjamin has used at least 70% whole bunch vinification, which freshens the finish, offering a slatey quality mixed in to the red fruit.
