Tasting notes
This was the first parcel Boillot harvested in 2020 – on 19th August. Guillaume Boillot notes that while it often shows a more “masculine” side of Volany, it’s not the case this year. The wine is pretty and floral, with a charming nose of dainty berry fruit, and the faintest hint of white pepper. The tannins are like the finest lace, providing a delicate framework for the ripe, sweet red cherry and raspberry fruit. The acidity is moreishly juicy. This is incredibly alluring Pinot Noir.

Very intense mid purple, very floral, like dried cherries, a bouncing energy up at the front, continues through to the back, good acidity, some slightly dry tannins, but overall a very good prospect. I could believe there were whole bunches here, which there are not. Amazing persistence.
