Tasting notes
This is zesty and fresh, yet with a lovely, creamy richness on the nose that complements the mineral precision. Flint, chalk and citrus fruit build a palate of amazing purity and focus – driven and long with the vintage’s backbone of acidity.

One of the leaner wines in the range is the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets, a medium-bodied, chalky and saline wine evocative of citrus zest, warm bread and fresh herbs. It misses a bit of mid-palate amplitude and texture this year.
The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru comes from an exchange of must. This has a well-defined bouquet with hints of white chocolate and grilled walnut, very focused and tensile, a light sea spray aromas emerging with time in the glass. The palate is well-defined with a crisp line of acidity, taut and very fresh with one of Pernot’s most malic finishes. Great persistence here, this lingers in the mouth like a Caillerets should. Superb.
