Tasting notes
This is the first vintage in which Alvina and Philippe have harvested this plot themselves. The result is sleek and pure Puligny, mineral and gorgeous. There’s an intense and vibrant core of citrus, but with flesh in the mid-palate and a long, mineral finish.

Comprising of nine barrels, the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Clos des Noyers Bret comes from Pernot’s own vineyard. I appreciate the mineralité on this Puligny, crushed limestone and petrichor flanked by Granny Smith apple aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. Real tension and salinity here, a touch of bitter lemon judiciously used on the finish. Delicious.
Pale lemon and lime. Slight cats pee to the nose, very different in style to Rue aux Vaches. Then a burst of exciting fruit on the palate, fresh yet ripe apricots, not so ripe as to induce peaches, and with a salivatory acidity. Another beautiful village cuve.
