Tasting notes
From 100-year-old vines in Pernand-Vergelesses, Faure's 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté La Corvée de Bully wafts from the glass with scents of white flowers, Anjou pear, mandarin orange and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and incisive, it's bright and precise, with a layered core of fruit girdled by tangy acids, concluding with a saline finish.

The 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté comes from the same parcel as the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc but from a plot of vines planted in 1914, and is matured in used barrels. It has a wonderful, complex bouquet of yellow plum, mirabelle and light honeysuckle aromas that are clearly delineated. The palate is well defined with a fine bead of acidity, quite strict and linear. A touch of lemongrass and ginger appears on the finish. Excellent.
