Tasting Notes
A perfect example of top-drawer Chablis Grand Cru. The Blanchots is a standout in the Long-Depaquit tasting with wonderful mineral and almost iodine-inflected notes, andbright citrus aromas. It is extremely classic, with great tension on the palate, surrounded by fresh, pure flavours of white fruit. The complex mid-palate is driven by a minerality reminiscent of its Kimmeridgian soils. The acidity in this wine is round, generous and well balanced. The finish is long and mouth coating. It is a superb wine. A portion (25%) was aged in oak barrels (95% two and three-year-old barrels with 5% new).

The 2020 Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet of honeysuckle and jasmine scents, sultry at first but opening with 10 minutes' aeration. The palate is well balanced with a citric entry. A fine, driving bead of acidity engenders a tensile, quite steely finish for a Blanchot. I think this will age with style.
