Tasting notes
Procera Gin gets its name from juniperus procera – African juniper. These berries are painstakingly harvested by hand at the end of short, mid-year rains before being air-dried and flash-frozen to produce Procera Blue Dot. They are distilled green in a 230-litre Müller pot still by distilling pioneer Roger Jorgensen. The resulting liquid is bright, crisp and expressive. The nose opens with vibrant, classic juniper, along with lashings of aromatic citrus and a dusting of menthol earthiness. There’s a suggestion of nuttiness, too. Juniper remains prominent on the palate, lush and inviting, backed up by gently warming caraway. The finish continues with delicious complexity: a gentle pine-forest woodiness sits alongside the classic juniper, citrus and spice balance. A treasure of a gin that simply shines in a Martini. Each bottle comes with a salt garnish made from the same botanicals as the gin.
