Tasting notes
The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges La Gerbotte Blanc has a slightly muffled, resinous bouquet that needs a little more delineation. The palate is clean and balanced, but it lacks some tension and acidic spine, drifting on the finish. Tasted at the Domaine de L’Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges La Gerbotte was taken from tank, scheduled for bottling in December 2019. It has a well-defined bouquet with scents of apple blossom, sliced pear and crushed stone, quite Puligny-like in style. The palate is well balanced, the 20% new oak lending midpalate weight. Light walnut and fumé notes define the finish, which displays moderate length. Fine.
Aromas of pastry cream, green apple, apricot and white flowers introduce the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Cuvée La Gerbotte, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that's charming and open-knit. It was a little troubled by suspended lees when I tasted it, but this should be a front-loaded, immediate white Nuits from the Domaine de l'Arlot.
