Tasting notes
The 2019 Appenheim Hundertgulden Riesling trocken is a reductive-styled, spicy-mineral and citrus-scented Riesling with an intense lemon juice and rind aroma that intertwines with earthy/calcareous notes and gives a stonier impression compared to the Goldberg. Full-bodied, dense and intense on the palate, with an elegant and persistently salty performance, this is a well-made and fruity dry Riesling with a grippy and nicely astringent finish that reveals fine bitters. This is a very good reflection of the steep part of the southwest-facing vineyard. 12.5% alcohol. Tasted in January 2021.

AP number 19 20. The perfect balance between juice and freshness. Great for current drinking. Very pure. Lovely assimilable fruit. (JR)
