Tasting notes
This 18-year-old Highland single malt from Balblair was transferred into first-fill Spanish oak butts after an initial maturation period slumbering in ex-Bourbon barrels. The resulting liquid is rich with notes of toffee, pear and warm spices.

Like its 15 year old sibling, this was matured in bourbon casks before being finished in first-fill European oak butts. The spicy nose yields toffee, sherry, and poached pears. The palate is supple, spicy, and slightly herbal, with dried fruits, then big caramel, vanilla, and orange notes develop. The finish is quite dry and earthy, with oak and a hint of chile.
