On another level, the 2019 Saint- Péray Lieu-Dit Payrolles is a serious, incredible wine that comes from more granitic soils (which is more rare in this more limestone dominated appellation) and was brought up all in used demi-muids. Killer notes of caramelized lemon, toasted spice, brioche, honeysuckle, and crushed rock-like minerality all emerge from the glass. This medium to full-bodied beauty has a rounded, opulent texture, bright acidity, and a great finish. It shows more and more salinity with time in the glass. It will benefit from a decant if drinking any time soon, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for 10-15 years. It's such a beautiful white.

100% Marsanne. Good freshness on the palate with a focused mid palate. Nice toasted note and a sense of honeyed quince and good clean finish – good texture and purity. (AC)
