2018 Kurni

Gigantically concentrated with an abundance of beautifully ripe black fruit married to huge, plush tannins, this reminds me of great Amarones because it has some of the dried-grape character, but also finesse. Like a glamorous movie star this will grab everyone’s attention and may be dismissed by some as too flashy, but we’re impressed by the wine’s good manners. 100% montepulciano. Drink or hold.
