Tasting notes
The 2019 Saint Aubin En Remilly ler Cru has a slightly reductive nose. However, it works in its favor, maintaining delineation and mineralité, perhaps just slightly more alcohol presence than other En Remilly wines. The palate does not quite deliver the complexity of the nose. It shows citrus peel, orange rind, touches of quince jus and marmalade but just misses the same level of terroir expression as its peers on the finish. Still, this is a fine En Remilly, just not the best in show. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Pale to mid lemon yellow. Some power to the bouquet alongside reduction, and a little bacon fat. Good intensity here with an excellent backbone, white apple fruit with a light hint of liquorice, fills the mid palate well with a lengthy finish. Muscular but still also fine. Maybe a light touch of alcohol. DIAM 30 closure.
The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly unwinds in the glass to reveal aromas of crisp stone fruit, fresh bread, dried white flowers and wet stones, framed by a discreet touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied and ample yet chiseled, it's taut and mineral, with deep reserves of concentration and a long, saline finish.
