Tasting notes
Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Syrah OGT has red and black cherries on the nose with nuances of dried flowers, iron and grilled game meats, aniseed and dried orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is grainy and fresh, with lovely layering of fruit, spice and earth, and it finishes uplifted and long.

The 2019 Syrah OGT is wonderfully transparent and nuanced, qualities that aren't especially typical for Syrah here. Floral and peppery accents, along with bright tannins lend energy as well as grip that gives the wine its shape. Vibrant and so expressive, the OGT will certainly benefit from a few years in bottle. The blend is 50% Colson Canyon and 25% each Thompson and Tensley.
Also released only in magnum, the 2019 OGT is all Syrah that’s 50% from Colson Canyon, 25% from Tensley Estate, and 25% from Thompson Vineyard. It saw 15% stems and aging in neutral oak. It’s another killer wine from Tensley that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face, offering a monster bouquet of pepper herbs, violets, smoked game, roasted meats, and assorted red and black fruits. Complex, full-bodied, ultra-pure, and just a quintessential California Syrah, drink this sexy beast any time over the coming 15 years.
