The 2019 Goldtröpfchen Riesling Auslese is precise, fresh and reductive on the flinty and darker-toned nose. Lush and round as well as piquant and salty on the palate, this is a highly stimulating and frisky Auslese with great grip, finely racy acidity and lingering salinity. Another fabulous Auslese from Thomas Haag! 7.5% alcohol. Tasted from AP 2120 in June 2020.

AP number 21 20. TA 8.8 g/l, RS 107 g/l. Quite a bit of spontaneous fermentation aroma on the nose but I will try to look beyond that. Light bodied and quite fragile. Racy and far from delicate. Lovely sweetness as though from freshly squeezed grapes. Pure expression. (JR)
