The Bockenauer 2019 Felseneck Riesling Kabinett opens very clear, precise and intense on the reductive yet filigreed and Mosel-styled nose. Sweet and lush yet also pure, fresh and piquant on the palate, this Kabinett from the slate soils of the Felseneck is ripe, sensual and even generous yet still far too young. The wine is round and very aromatic on the finish, with red berry, plummy and ripe peach aromas and salty-piquant acidity. You won't be happy with this wine today but quite surely in 7-10 years and many more from then. Tasted as a sample ready to be bottled in June 2020.

AP number 14 20. TA 9.6 g/l, RS 62 g/l. Cask sample. Quite a stinky spontaneous fermentation nose. And then quite a broad array of floral flavours. Then rather a sudden finish. Really very youthful. (JR)
