Tasting notes
Another killer wine, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La BAM sports a dense purple hue as well as mineral-driven aromatics of black fruits, graphite, liquid violets, and crushed stone. It's full-bodied and has flawless balance, fine-grained tannins, and a stunning finish. This has closed up slightly since release, and while it clearly offers pleasure today, it's going to benefit from another 3-5 years of bottle age.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Bam marries the natural power of this site with rich, dense fruit that nearly buries the tannins. Macerated red cherry, cinnamon, leather, spice and rose petal build in a bold, sumptuous Cabernet endowed with terrific persistence and tons of underlying structure. La Bam shows the more sensual, curvy side of the year.
The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Bam is a little closed and broody to begin, slowly opening to offer glimpses at earthy notes of tar, tilled soil and black truffles over a core of crème de cassis, cast-iron pan, baked blackberries, sautéed herbs and fruitcake plus a touch of espresso. Full-bodied, the palate has a rugged frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness supporting the concentrated, muscular fruit, finishing long and savory.
