Tasting notes
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru has a very refined bouquet with subtle crushed stone, Granny Smith and wild hedgerow scents that feel very precise. The palate is slightly honeyed on the entry and quite spicy, but overall is just missing a bit of tension. Thankfully, that manifests after 20 minutes in the glass. This requires more time in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières offers up aromas of orange oil, peach, white flowers, toasted nuts and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, ample and rich, with bright acids and a generous core of ripe, honeyed fruit, it concludes with a saline finish.
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru is a little stricter on the nose compared to the Champs-Canet, though it opens with scents of mirabelle, white flowers and just a hint of dried honey. The palate is very well balanced and now shows immense concentration. This is not shy retiring wallflower, but has real depth towards the finish. Excellent.
