Tasting notes
At first: Glowing ruby. With lots of development. Candified but rather agreeably so! Thick and dusty and full of pleasure. Really lively and vibrant. Could be German? There's a beginning, middle and end to this luscious, persistent wine. Properly Pinot. Retaste: Open, sweet and easy. Complete non classic. Perhaps the cinnamon note is a little too obvious? (JR)

The 2008 Pinot Noir Isabelle is a selection of the estate's 36 best barrels across many of the Central Coast's finest Pinot terroirs, including Sanford and Benedict, Talley, Bien Nacido and Le Bon Climat. Striking aromatics meld into an expressive core of fruit in this bold, sensual Pinot. This is at once rich yet accessible. Fine, silky tannins frame a finish of exceptional elegance and pedigree. In short, the Isabelle is a jewel of a wine. All of the barrels selected for the Isabelle were new Francois Freres barrels.

Jim Clendenen is one of the pioneers of the Central Coast. At their best, his wines capture striking expressions of some of the region’s top sites deeply influenced by a huge passion and admiration for the great wines of Burgundy. Tel.
