Tasting notes
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Vide-Bourse 1er Cru has a nuanced bouquet with apple blossom, Mirabelle and crushed limestone. The terroir floods through here and all with impressive precision. The palate is very well-balanced with a fine thread of acidity, taut and fresh, very complex with a multifaceted, harmonious and sapid finish that immediately encourages you back to the glass, which sadly will be empty sooner than intended. Wonderful. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of peach, vine blossom, white flowers, ripe pears and beeswax, the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse is medium to full-bodied, sumptuous and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. As usual, it's one of the more gourmand wines in the range.
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vides Bourses 1er Cru is compelling on the bouquet with white chocolaty and shaved almond flakes complementing the orange pith and dessicated orange peel scents. The palate is very well balanced with a saline entry. A fine bead of acidity here and a very compact finish that augur for a Chassagne that will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar. Great potential.
