From purchased grapes from three different suppliers, the 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a well-defined, quite mineral-driven bouquet with hints of hazelnut and apple blossom. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry and very good weight. The persistent marmalade-tinged finish has a satisfying saline aftertaste. Excellent.

The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is promising, mingling aromas of pear and ripe citrus fruits with hints of smoke and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, layered and muscular, it remains bright and lively, concluding with a long, saline finish.

Made from the beginning. Les Languettes plus, now, Hautes Mourottes just underneath the woods. Rather sweet and formless at the moment. A skein of green leafiness enlivens it but it’s not as interesting as the Chevalier-Montrachet. (JR)
