Tasting notes
Au Pied du Mont Chauve crafts brilliant-value white Burgundy – and this Premier Cru is no different. From the ripe yet fresh 2019 vintage, this wine is vibrant and complex – coming from a plot at the northern end of Chassagne-Montrachet, closer to Saint-Aubin.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumées 1er Cru Rouge has a light airy bouquet with Morello cherries and crushed strawberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, a mixture of red/black fruit with a saline undercurrant. It just feels a little "blocky" towards the finish that has just a little dryness.
About the producer

Au Pied du Mont Chauve is one of the Picard family's labels. The estate produces brilliant-value Burgundy and is one of few producers able to hold back wine for later release.
