Aromas of pear, yellow orchard fruit, white flowers and buttered toast introduce the 2019 Meursault Clos des Ecoles, a medium-bodied, open and lively wine that's fleshy and enveloping. Open and demonstrative, this will drink well young.

The 2019 Meursault Clos des École had been fined two weeks prior to my visit, and was due for bottling before the end of 2020. It has a simple, green apple and grapefruit bouquet that felt a little subdued when I tasted it. The palate is livelier, displaying a pleasant bitter edge and decent length, but I cannot help thinking that this is destined for drinking within four or five years, no longer.
