Quite closed for a 2019, but with classical elegance on the concentrated and tightly structured palate, the finely chiseled tannins supporting the ripe yet sleek palate very nicely. Very long, firm and chalky finish that’s laser-beam bright. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées (Domaine Louis Jadot) reveals scents of berry fruit, spiced plums, sweet soil tones, licorice and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, it's lively and vibrant, with refined tannins and fine length on the finish.

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru is quite perfumed on the nose, offering small red cherries mixed with blueberry and light seawater aromas. This opens nicely in the glass and reveals hidden facets. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and generous. Perhaps the most elegant of Jadot’s Chambolles, it will vie with the Feusselottes as their best from this appellation.

Cask sample. Bright garnet colour. Light mossiness on the nose (interesting rather than a fault). Very flattering jewelly fruit with some finesse and a hint of Chambolle chestnuts. Fresher than many Jadot 2019s (not too sweet) and a very broad, winning wine with everything in the right place. Lots of energy here. (JR)
