Score 95/100 · Drink 2027-2057, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021

Brooding and dramatic, Boillot's 2019 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of rose petals, Indian spices, rich berry fruit, plums and loamy soil. Full-bodied, layered and enveloping, it's textural and concentrated, with succulent acids, ripe tannins and a long, sapid finish.

More introverted that the Clos de Bèze—and as usual from the same supplier—this year, Boillot's 2019 Chambertin Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of raspberries, licorice, dried flowers and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, taut and concentrated, with lively acids and rich, powdery tannins, this will demand a bit of patience.
