Tasting Notes
In 2019, this offers amazing value; it is full of gorgeously rich, ripe, dark cherry fruit, with supple and rounded tannins making the wine approachable on release. Concentrated in colour, the 2019 Bourgogne Rouge from Charles van Canneyt is nicely expressive on the nose, with juicy little red berries, boysenberry and white flower notes. On the palate, the wine is ample, rich and multi-layered with red and darker fruit, from ripe dark cherry to hints of cassis. The minerality is beautiful and offers freshness alongside great balance, with supple and rounded tannins. The wine finishes with an iodine note that gives a sense of purity and freshness. A superb example of this cuvée, it will be approachable upon release and evolve nicely for the next five years.
