Tasting notes
The 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a light, slightly earthy bouquet that takes time to unfold in the glass. It is quite classic in style. Displaying sappy red fruit, the palate is medium-bodied and powdery in texture, but there is decent backbone on the finish that is more austere than you would think for this vintage. This has charm, though might not have the longevity of its peers. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Rich aromas of cassis, plums, warm spices, dark chocolate and toasty new oak introduce Boillot's 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, a full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's layered and elegantly muscular, with lively acids and powdery structuring tannins. Youthfully reserved, this has turned out very nicely.
