Score 93/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound, Apr 2008

A very ripe, almost red pinot and cassis liqueur-like nose precedes rich, full, sweet and admirably concentrated full-bodied flavors that are at once robust yet elegant, delivering excellent length on the finely balanced finish. This is built to age and should easily last 25 to 30 years and unlike the typical Corton, the tannins here are really quite sophisticated.

Densely crimson – very impressive colour. Sumptuous nose. Lovely richness with that slight coolness of 2005. Very fresh and full of energy. Throbs with ripe red fruits. Dry, neat finish. No slacker the way so many Cortons can be. (JR)
