Tasting notes
Pure, fresh, and complex with some subtle hints of reduction, more mineral than fruit driven, nevertheless the 2019 displays ripe and intense peach, quince, elements of almond, vanilla with some spice notes finishing with a lovely saline nuance suggesting Shellfish or Oyster leaf. Lashings of acidity give brightness, energy and create tension. Still very much a baby but paired with food this can provide delight for the next 10 years easily!

Martin Donatsch's 2019 Chardonnay Passion offers a deep, clear, rich and intense, still a bit reductive nose with ripe and concentrated fruit aromas intertwined with notes of crushed limestones and lemon peel. Full-bodied, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a tightly structured Chardonnay with fine tannins and a long, intense and quite powerful finish that reveals sustainable vitality and salinity. This is a serious, expressive and terroir-driven Chardonnay of great excellence. 13.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in January 2022.
