An interesting blend of equal parts Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2019 Château Bolaire sports an opaque ruby/plum color to go with solid aromatics of ripe red and black fruits supported by notes of graphite, scorched earth, and tobacco. It's a rich, medium to full-bodied, structured wine on the palate, with lots of tannins, yet it brings good mid-palate depth and solid length on the finish. Hide bottles for 3-4 years if you can, and it should keep for well over a decade.

Dark, deep and powerful, this unique blend of roughly 40% Merlot and close to 60% old vine Petit Verdot is packed with dark chocolate, flowers, black, red and blue fruits along with earthy nuances. On the palate, the wine is lush, fresh and salty. Bold and richly textured, give this just few years in the cellar before pulling a cork. Drink from 2022-2031. 91 Points

The 2019 Bolaire was cropped at 30hL/ha. On the nicely perfumed nose, crushed rose petals and incense complement the red berry fruit, and hints of brown spice emerge with time. The palate is well structured, grippy and edgy, with a touch of white pepper on the citrus-fresh finish. This conveys a sense of_ joie-de-vivre_.

The 2019 Bolaire is plump, juicy and super-expressive. Sweet macerated cherry, spice, leather and tobacco give this unusual Merlot/Petit Verdot blend lovely complexity. Today, Bolaire is a bit quiet, but it certainly has ton of character and a lot to offer.
