Deep purple colour. Very fruit forward nose with some nice cedar/ vanilla nicely integrated. More in the front palate but nice black forest gateau and violet notes which work well with the new oak at play. Overall very fruity, open style of Pomerol– red plum, black cherry fruit and milk chocolate. Generous with some nice directional tannins.

Terrific ripe black cherries, currants, smoked herbs, chocolate, and some spicy oak notes all emerge from the 2019 Château Tour Maillet (Lagardère), a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, impressive Pomerol that has lots to love. It should benefit from a couple of years in the cellar, and I can't imagine it not keeping for 15 years or more.
The 2019 Tour Maillet (Lagardère) is a bold, juicy Pomerol that will start drinking well in another few years' time, once the tannins soften a touch. There's good energy driving the red cherry/plum fruit, espresso, licorice, menthol and spice flavors. This stylish, rich Pomerol has plenty to offer in a decidedly extroverted style.
The 2019 Tour Maillet feels a bit overdone and too ripe on the nose, compromising its delineation and terroir expression. The palate is sweet and rounded on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with liquorice-tinged black fruit. Good length - it's just the nose letting the side down at the moment.
