Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2021
Ente's lowest-yielding plot in this vintage was the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Truffière, a site that suffered from hydric stress and delivered only 42 hectoliters per hectare. The quality is some compensation for the lack of quantity, as the wine unfurls in the glass with lovely aromas of crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, mandarin oil, warm bread, buttery pastry and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and charming, it's bright and precise, with real depth of fruit and a seamless, searingly effortless profile that is in reality so difficult to achieve.
