Vanilla, cinnamon, ripe black cherry and stone. This is well extracted, but just about has the length and depth to match. On balance though, I’d expect more from a grand cru. (TJ)

The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a high-toned bouquet that sported a little VA. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry, featuring black plum, raspberry coulis and light truffle notes, but it is missing some delineation on the finish.
