Tasting notes
The Roagna 2014 Barbaresco Faset reveals a light garnet color and pretty luminosity that shines bright from within. The bouquet is distinguished by floral tones of lilac and pressed lavender, and the fruit tones at the back come into focus with slow intensity, revealing white cherry, wild plum and a touch of sweet apricot. The wine offers a slender and lithe approach that prizes the elegance and timid grace of classically made Nebbiolo. Exactly 2,253 bottles were released.

The 2014 Barbaresco Faset is laced with sweet red cherry, mint, wild flowers, licorice and orange peel. Soft, and inviting, with lovely inner perfume, the 2014 will drink well with minimal cellaring. This is an especially soft, open-knit style, and yet there is plenty of Nebbiolo persistence and overall grip. The 2014 is a solid debut. It doesn't take much to see where the Faset is likely to go in coming vintages.
About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
