Tasting notes
As usual, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux is a bit more elegant (whereas its Vieilles Vignes counterpart is richer and more boisterous). Offering up notes of cherries, blackberries, sweet soil tones and summer truffle, the Aux Echézeaux is medium to full-bodied, sappy and nicely concentrated, built around supple, powdery tannins and ripe acids.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux is much crisper and better-defined on the nose of perfumed red cherries and raspberry preserve aromas and displays much more mineralité than the Gevrey Village. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins and a sweet core of blackberry and raspberry fruit. Slightly confit-like toward a finish of fine length. This should age nicely.
