The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières has a reserved bouquet, a little gravelly and nicely defined. The palate has a candied quality on the entry, very fine acidity, and a touch of apricot and yuzu with a lively, tropical tinged, slightly oily finish that is very seductive. This marks an excellent debut.

A little low key after tasting his Corton-Charlemagne. A tad simple flowery. OK tension but a bit chewy. (JR)
